What Makes it Good?

Attapulgite clay has proven to be a potent adsorbent for a wide range of impurities. Given its less selective nature it adsorbs compounds less aggressively across the board than clay comprised primarily of calcium bentonite, allowing products made with it to retain more of their original composition.

Clay deposits are a mixed composition of different forms of clay and minerals. Nomenclature dictates the clay be labelled by its primary constituent, but these unique mixtures of clay in different percentages and the minerals they are mixed and formed with greatly impact how they perform in different applications. As a result, not all deposits of attapulgite clay are created equal and using that knowledge we were able leverage different deposits to further increase the range of impurities that can be removed with a single attapulgite blend.

GoodFast is the result of that work. Blended from deposits with potent decolorization and heavy metal stripping potential and deposits better suited for removing phospholipids and soaps, GoodFast removes a wide range of impurities that impact flavor, and shelf-life, while being gentle enough as a result of its extremely broad range of targeted impurities to leave aromatic and flavor profiles almost completely unaltered.

How is it Fast?

When it comes to speed, it's all about mean particle size, particle size range distribution, differential pressure, and dynamic viscosity. While we don't have much control of an operations chosen differential pressure and dynamic viscosity impacting parameters, we do have control over the particle characteristics of the filter media they'll need to pass through.

GoodFast was formulated from clay with a low particle size range distributions and a highly similar mean particle size of a higher micron size than most brands currently on the market. By choosing clay with low particle size range distributions and very similar mean particle size packing is less dense, leading to a higher percentage of voids promoting faster, more even flow. Combining that with choosing larger mean particle sizes leads to larger voids further improving flow characteristics.

Better flow-rates translates to more runs per batch due to deeper beds, less swaps, and greater savings in labor while increasing potential throughput. Let GoodFast unlock your systems true potential!

DO NOT BAKE. Free Moisture percentage plays an important role in selectivity and flow characteristics.

*Density is based on hand/vibratory packing. Actual density will be higher after vacuum and positive pressure is applied.
