GoodCheap attapulgite adsorbent is milled into very fine, highly activated powder to produce stable, clean oils from otherwise difficult to remediate biomass or crude oil.

ph: 2.5 | Free Moisture: 10%† | Mean Particle Size: 37µm | Density: 42.0 lbs/cuft(tamped)*

Remediates:

  • Chlorophyll
  • Color Bodies
  • Heavy Metals

Is it Really Good?

We understand sometimes you need something stronger, and less selective. Maybe your end product goal is less concerned with exact preservation of aromatic profiles, or you might be up against vessel or material quality limitations that require more remediation strength in a smaller footprint. For those scenarios, we chose the lower end of the micron range for GoodCheap, increasing the available surface area in a given volume, and chose a highly activated clay with very potent decolorization potential.

GoodCheap sacrifices flow-rate to increase surface area and remediation strength, but still benefits from being an attapulgite based clay in that attapulgite clay is more gentle on aromatic and flavor profiles when compared to calcium bentonite clay, but still removes a substantial amount of impurities across a wider spectrum. As a result, GoodCheap is able to remediate much more difficult to clean up material using the same volume of our more selective blend.

Why is it Cheap?

Since GoodCheap requires less steps in manufacturing and undergoes less scrutiny during sieving we are able to produce it at a much lower cost, then we pass that savings down to you. While it may not boast flow-rates as high as our other products, it still provides comparable flow, and greater remediation strength, than existing solutions on the market for color remediation, making it a smart choice for budget conscientiousness operations.

DO NOT BAKE. Free Moisture percentage plays an important role in selectivity and flow characteristics.

*Density is based on hand/vibratory packing. Actual density will be higher after vacuum and positive pressure is applied.
